Your adventure begins! Today, you will cycle over the beautiful island of Terschelling. Your bike tour could include forest and dune landscapes along the North Sea coast via West aan Zee, Midsland aan Zee, Formerum aan Zee to Oosterend. From there, you will cycle over cycle paths through the dune landscape to Midsland and/or on the Wadden Sea side back to West-Terschelling.
You will also have time to go to the beach or a museum or just enjoy a cup of coffee in a restaurant during your island day trip.
Today, you sail for about 2-3 hours to the island of Vlieland. After lunch, you can get on your bike and cycle past the lighthouse and the Posthuis. In the afternoon, there will be enough time to stroll through the village.
Today, you will make the crossing from Vlieland to Texel. During this 6- or 7-hour sailing trip, you can help hoist the sails, steer the ship, or learn to read a nautical chart. Depending on your arrival time, there might even be time to get to know Texel before the day is done.
Today, your Netherlands bike tour continues as you venture around the island of Texel. Explore the villages of Oosterend, further north to De Cocksdorp, the village De Koog on the North Sea side, Den Burg, Den Hoorn, and from there back to the harbour of Oudeschild. Touring the island by bike is an idyllic way to enjoy these villages and views throughout the journey.
Only one day on Texel is simply too short to get to know the island! You will get to spend another day touring by bike to see even more of this interesting destination.
Today, you will cycle to the nature reserve of the Slufter or the Horspolders. In Oudeschild the boat will be waiting for you and, in the afternoon, you will make the crossing (approx. 3 hours) to the harbour town of Den Oever (on the mainland).
On the final day, you will sail back to Harlingen along the Afsluitdijk. You can plan to arrive back in Harlingen around 15:00, with plenty of wonderful memories from your bike tour and sailing adventure!

With a professional background in the nonprofit sector working in international development, we are keenly aware of the impact tourism can have on a destination and its people.
That’s why we choose to bring your focus away from driving long distances, and instead offer alternatives such as bikes, sailboats, kayaks, or simply walking to reach a destination where possible.
Moreover, in order to give you the most authentic experience, we give preference to small local hotels, B&B’s, and campsites. In these spaces, you can connect with the Dutch culture in an authentic way and experience the cities and villages of the Northern Netherlands.
