Enjoy an adventure by sea! This Netherlands sailing tour allows you the freedom to explore the Wadden Sea and the Wadden Islands just off the northern coast of the Netherlands and Germany. Five of these islands are Dutch territory. During this journey, you will get the chance to explore three of the Wadden Islands while sailing aboard your own private boat.
The islands you can visit during this Dutch sailing trip are part of the province of Friesland. You might also like this Friesland holiday by land so you can explore local villages and history in this beautiful province. While on this Netherlands boat trip, you will explore the UNESCO World Heritage Site that is the Wadden Sea.
You and your group can hop from island to island to enjoy the beautiful nature, dunes, and beaches. Each island has its own unique landscapes and attractions. What could be nicer than sailing through the Wadden Sea for a week, breathing the salty sea air, and looking at the horizon in the company of other enthusiastic sailors?
On the Wadden Sea, we live by the rhythm of the tides and the weather. For this reason, the exact route of island hopping can be determined day by day. The skipper explains the options for the next island based on the weather conditions, the tides, and the wind direction. The itinerary below gives you an idea of the possibilities for you to enjoy.
Sailing and sleeping on board make this such a unique experience that the whole family is sure to love!

We start this trip at the end of the afternoon.
Terschelling is probably the most popular island with vacationers. There is so much to do here that everyone will be entertained! That’s why we stay on Terschelling for a day on the return journey to give you plenty of time to explore the island.
We highly recommend you take a nice bike ride from West-Terschelling to the tip of Oosterend and continue hiking through the Boschplaat nature reserve. Or take a leisurely stroll through the lively streets of the villages of West, Midsland, or Formerum.
Your Netherlands sailing adventure continues to the beautiful island of Ameland with its wide range of activities. Nature is vast and diverse here. On the North Sea side, there is a beautiful white sand beach with high dunes and in the various villages, you can visit beautiful museums and sights.
Schiermonnikoog is the smallest island that we visit during this boat trip in the Netherlands. The island has only 932 inhabitants and is car-free and therefore loved for its tranquility and space.
Most of this versatile island is a nature reserve with dunes, beaches, forests, mudflats, and polders. Schiermonnikoog also has an extensive network of hiking, cycling, and riding trails and the wide beach offers countless possibilities for kite flying, sand sailing, surfing, and more.
Enjoy more time today exploring the island of Schiermonnikoog further before we start our return boat trip.
Today we will sail back to the island of Ameland and you will have the opportunity to enjoy the island even more!
On this day, you can continue to discover all of Terschelling’s natural beauty and its lively character.
In the morning you can take a nice walk on the island of Terschelling. Then we sail back to Harlingen. Here you will set foot on the mainland again in the afternoon after a wonderful week full of memories.
We can easily organise pre- and post-nights for you in lovely places near the harbor.

With a professional background in the nonprofit sector working in international development, we are keenly aware of the impact tourism can have on a destination and its people.
That’s why we choose to bring your focus away from driving long distances, and instead offer alternatives such as bikes, sailboats, kayaks, or simply walking to reach a destination where possible.
Moreover, in order to give you the most authentic experience, we give preference to small local hotels, B&B’s, and campsites. In these spaces, you can connect with the Dutch culture in an authentic way and experience the cities and villages of the Northern Netherlands.
